Gilbert Phillips - Class Of 1996

April 10, 2006- This weekend, the Belize Police Department found itself investigating the sixteenth murder of the year. The victim was out buying a firearm, but as News Five’s Jacqueline Godwin discovered, he soon wound up on the business end of a gun. Police reports are that around noon on Sunday, twenty-nine year old Gilbert Phillips went into Cardinez Alley to buy a firearm when he was shot in the head. During the transaction, Phillips was inside his vehicle and had reached over to hand over the money. The seller was a young man dressed in full black with a black peak cap. He had the gun in his hand when suddenly he cocked the weapon, grabbed the money, and fired a single shot. Philips was still in the car with a bullet wound to the left side of his head.
